The Solway View herd
was founded in 2003 with the purchase of Broomfield
Vivien. 2004 followed with a succession of purchases
building a small but well bred herd of brood
females from prefix’s including Annanwater,
Ridgedean and Norbreck.
2006 was a defining year for us. It was our first time in the show ring and we were delighted to find ourselves at the right end of the line up with our first own bred bull ‘Solway View Antonio’. He has secured several championships and was sold at the May 07 Border British Blue Club sale for 8,000gns.
Today the Solway View herd
has expanded and we are now enjoying success in the show and
sale rings.
Broomfield Vivien gave us our first 'Royal' Championship by taking Supreme Champion honours at the 2008 Royal Highland Show - she has bred very well for us and has two daughters excelling in the show ring:
Solway View Black Beauty ET is following in her mothers footsteps by winning Interbreed and Best on Field titles in the show ring including Overall British Blue Champion at the Royal Highland Show (RHS) 2009 and again in 2010.
RHS 2010 also saw Solway View Drambuie take Reserve Overall Champion next to her sister.
On her latest outing, Black Beauty took Supreme Champion British Blue title at the Great Yorkshire Show - see show results.
