Cockermouth Show - third best on field title in succession for the Solway View herd.
It was the third year in succession that Kevin has won Interbreed Championship at Cockermouth Show. Firstly with Broomfield Vivienn, then last year with Solway View Black Beauty.
This year was a repeat performance for Black Beauty when she took the showfield top honours for the second successive year.

Penrith show success - Breed Champion and Border British Blue Calf Show Champion
Solway View Black Beauty added a tenth championship to her list of wins, by taking Breed Championship at Penrith Show.
It was another very successful day, with Ellis showing Solway View Elegance in the Border British Blue Calf show. Judge Brian Wheatly awarded top honours to Elegance and congratulated Ellis on her handling skills. For more calf show images click here.

Premier Exhibitor Award on first trip to the Royal Welsh Show
2010 was our first trip to the Royal Welsh Show and we were pleased to win Premier Exhibitor Award. The team included three daughters of Broomfield Vivien - all of whom won tickets on the day:

1st and King Thomas & Lloyd Jones & Co Trophy for the best female, in calf/maiden, born before 30 June 07

1st and Colborn Dawes Cup for the highest placed junior female

Double top at Great Yorkshire Show
The 2010 Great Yorkshire Show was the second outing of the year for Solway View Black Beauty, this time travelling with her full sister - Solway View Elegance. The pair had a fantastic day taking top honours:
Solway View Black Beauty won Supreme British Blue Championship.
Solway View Elegance took Junior Breed Champion and Reserve Supreme Champion.
Both our Champions are out of Broomfield Vivien and are by Gitan Du P’Tit Mayeur and went on to win the best pair by one sire.
The Solway View show team also went on to win the best group of three shown by exhibitor.

Double Royal Highland Show success
The RHS 2010 was a landmark event for Solway View British Blues. Winning British Blue Breed Championship and Reserve British Blue Championship with two home bred females out of Broomfield Vivien was a very special occasion.

Ayr Show and Border British Blue Club success
This year we took just one animal to Ayr Show and were pleased to take British Blue Breed Championship with him!
Solway View Dexy ET is a June 08 bull out of Lochside Wigtown by Gitan Du P'Tit Mayeur(IS). He took top honours at the show before travelling down to Carlisle for the BBBC Show and Sale.
Dexy took second prize and was later sold for 7,000gns.

Border BBC Calf Show Male Champion 2010
Solway View Emirates ET is our Annanwater Venice/Bringlee Blackstar son born Jan 09. He took first prize in his class and went on to win Male Championship honours.
Ali Jackson leads Emirates to victory
This success is a repeat of last year for the Solway View team when Solway View Dynamite took the Male Championship. He was successfully exported later in 2009, to FABROCA in Belgium.
Taking 2nd place in class 5 was Solway View Elly ET - daughter of Ridge Dean Aneka by Nounours De Wihogne, and in the following class, Connor took another second place with Solway View Entertainer ET, an Empire D'Ochain daughter out of our successful brood cow Broomfield Vivien.

Standing in 3rd place was Solway View Elegance ET - another daughter of Broomfield vivien by Gitan Du P'Tit Mayeur - led by Andy Ryder with some help from Ellis who collected the prize.

Following in her mothers footsteps
Continuing on her winning streak , Solway View Black Beauty ET went on to take Overall British Blue Champion at this year's Royal Highland. That is two RHS championships in a row for Solway View herd - Broomfield Vivien won last year and now her oldest daughter has taken the Championship from her:
• British Blue Overall Champion
• British Blue Female Champion
• British Blue 1st in class
Great Yorkshire Show 2009
1st and Reserve Female Champion
It was our first visit to the Great Yorkshire Show and Black Beauty ET took first place in her class and went on to take Reserve Female Championship too.
Interbreed Pairs
It was a great day for the breed when Solway View Black Beauty and Ballygrange Alex teamed up for the Interbreed Pairs, they took top honours winning the Blythwood Pairs Trophy.
