Sale success at Chelford September 08
Court Ursula took Female Champion and Supreme Champion at Chelford, September 08. Ursula is by Vigoureux De St Fontaine and out of the Galopeur sired Ballyfin Rachel.
She went on to sell, warranted in calf to Gitan Du P’Tit Mayeur and made 4,000 gns (£4,200) to Adam Neachell, at the Cromwell herd.
Solway View Dotty - a 4 month old heifer was also sold at Chelford. Dotti is out of Annanwater Whispa by Gitan P'Tit Mayeur and was sold for 3000gns.

Solway View Caesar wins Agro Expo Calf Show
Solway View Ceaser ET born October 2007, took top honours at the Agri Expo Calf Show. He is an exceptionally well grown, black and white son of Baron Du Bois Bauloye (IS) and out of the Bringlee Sandy flush.
Alan Dickinson brother of the late David Dickinson (official society auctioneer to the British Blue Cattle Society 1989-2007) presented the David Dickinson Memorial Trophy to Kevin Watret.
The calf show team had a great day, with the following also taking prizes at the Calf Show:

Diego and Dandy were twin bull calves out of Annanwater Wispa and were new born calves at the may AGM.

We travelled to Cockermouth the night before, taking Vivien, her daughter Black Beauty. The pair had yet another successful day winning their classes and Overall Championship with Vivien and taking second place in the Interbreed pairs. Vivien went on to take her 4th best on field title this year - and 6th in total!

Penrith Show 2008
We always enjoy Penrith Show, especially as it also includes the Calf Show. We took a full team which included 6 calves for the calf show and were delighted to see every animal come home with a prize winning rosette.
Broomfield Vivien Yet again she was British Blue Champion before taking the Beef Interbreed then Best In Show. This was Vivien's 3rd Best in Show this year - adding to the one she won at last years Northumberland Show.

The Cumberland County Show 2008
This was our fifth show this year and yet again we had great success with the stock we exhibited.
Broomfield Vivien took British Blue Female Champion, before clinching the Supreme British Blue Championship honours.
She went on to take the Interbreed title and finished the day with BEST IN SHOW for the THIRD TIME in her career.

We have only exhibited at three shows this year and on each occasion Broomfield Vivien has taken the Supreme Champion title:

Broomfield Vivien takes her 3rd Supreme Championship this year

Lesmahagow Show 2008
It was very late in the day when we decided to take our show team to Lesmahagow, but we are delighted that we did!
Broomfield Vivien took female Champion, then British Blue Champion before taking Interbreed and then Best in Show too. This is Vivien's second 'Best in Show' having taken the award at Northumberland last year.

Lukeroyal Wonderful took the Reserve Overall British Blue, standing next to Vivien. We are pleased with the progress this young heifer is making.
Pendle Bruce had his first show outing with us. Bruce was bought at Carlisle in May. He took 1st place in May and repeated his first prize place at Lesmahagow in a strong class of bulls.

Black Beauty had her first show outing and stood first in a strong class of young heifers. Out of Broomfield Vivien by Dafydd D'Ochain we have high hopes for this heifer.

Constantino made his first show appearance and took Junior Male Champion, standing as Reserve Overall Champion to the senior bull Croftends Bruno who sold for 14500gns at Carlisle.

Antonio may have been sold in May to the Cromwell herd, but Adam was keen to see his new purchase in the ring at The Royal Highland Show.
After fierce competition, Antonio took first prize honours and vindicated the Cromwell herd's decision to buy him!

It was only the second show outing for Broomfield Vivien, one of our favourite Belgian Blue cows.

Broomfield Vivien was also part of the team of 3 Belgian Blue's that won the Interbreed groups. She attracted a lot of interest, particularly as we have her son 'Solway View Archie' for sale.

Solway View Antonio
We were very proud to sell Solway View Antonio at this sale. Not least because it was the Border Blegian Blue Club shows that sparked my interest in starting our herd.
Solway View Antonio was our first home bred animal for sale at auction. He stood as Reserve Overall Male Champion on the Friday evening and sold on Saturday to the Cromwell herd of AE Neachell & Son, Shrubbery Farm, Walsall for 8,000 guineas.
We were delighted to find out that Solway View won the Border Club special trophy for highest priced animal on sale by a club member.
